Project Overview

Level Electrical & Air Conditioning were engaged by In House to complete the full mechanical and electrical services package for the Southland Boys’ High School redevelopment in Invercargill. The works formed part of a Ministry of Education upgrade to improve classroom comfort, ventilation efficiency, and system control across Block A.

Scope of Works

The project included the supply, installation, commissioning, and certification of all new HVAC and control systems in accordance with the Powell Fenwick mechanical specification. Key elements delivered by Level Electrical & Air Conditioning included:

• VRV heat pump systems providing heating and cooling to teaching and hall spaces

• Counter-flow heat recovery ventilation units for fresh-air supply and energy efficiency

• Full mechanical electrical scope, including new switchboards and control cabling

• Integration of an Optimum Air BMS with Schneider controls for centralised monitoring and system automation

• Comprehensive testing, commissioning, and reliability run of all systems

• Preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and PS3 documentation

Result

The completed installation provides the school with a high-performance, energy-efficient HVAC system delivering excellent thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Through close coordination with the main contractor and all sub-trades, Level Electrical & Air Conditioning successfully delivered a complex mechanical upgrade to the highest compliance standards required for Ministry of Education facilities.
